DANCE AND PARTY ? NO WAY

hi, 

If you have been following the news recently you would surely not have the most flashy and interesting news - The attack in the pub at Mangalore by a  new association  called ' Sri Ram Sene " whose primary object is to prevent the deterioration of the culture of India . Dancing in pub's , partying hard at nights or publicly dating , according to them , is taboo . 

what is really bizarre is that they said that they would instantly marry any couple  they saw dating on Valentine's day .... funny, it may seem ,   but that is the agenda in  their "memorandum of association ' !!!!!

Now , if I were asked to comment on this , I would actually support  Mr Muthalik , the "chairman" of this group . I am not against partying and drinking but people , for sure , do not know their limits . They lose their senses  even  before  drinking and when things go out of limit , there is a complaint in the police station , forcing them to take immediate action  against the culprit . 

But I do agree , that they method they adopted to was wrong. they needn't have slapped people and literally thrown them out . But we don't seem to learn any other way , do we ?? 

let's see how the party is going to be on Feb 14th !!!!!!!!

I read " Chicken soup for the romantic soul' - a truly wonderful book that makes you forget the world and won't let you keep it down till you are done with it .

RUNWAY ZERO EIGHT , MR COTE AND THE PRESIDENT

hi , 

well let me take this opportunity to tell you to elucidate the pictures .... 

the first one is with me with the CEO of Honeywell , David .M. Cote , a person who wields a lot of power and respect . I was called on stage, at the Honeywell facility at Bangalore where Mr Cote had come on 15/5/07, as he wanted to congratulate me on my trip to Washington DC , USA which was a Science , Technology and public policy program sponsored by Honeywell . 

The second picture is Mr Cote with the president of the United States , Barrack Obama  before speaking on the U.S. economy from the East Room of the White House January 28, 2009 in Washington, DC. 

So applying a little bit of Mathematics ,,,,,, 

if A=B & B=C , then B=C ........where A is me , B is Mr Cote and C is Mr President !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for once I agree with the rule ....... 

I also happen to read Arthur Hailey's " Runway zero eight ". On the whole the book is well written and gives an insight into the skill pilot's have in flying , perhaps , the best invention of man - the Airplane . In the story , both the pilots and  some other passengers are down with food poisoning and it remains to be seen if the passengers will ever make it down alive .............

hello ,

i am sorry for not writing in last week as i was tied up with the preparation for my tests ... 

the tests went very well ... proves the proverb as so you sow  so shall you reap .. 

the headlines was of course the change in power at the white house  . President elect Obama became the 44th President of the USA on Jan 20th ,... the whole event was broad casted live and, i bet those who managed to save their TV's in this economic turmoil , would have seen the whole procedure ... i must admit that it was done with a lot of pomp and was made as grand as possible , which included live performances by U2 , Beyonce and  Jennifer Lopez.. it seemed as if the whole of America had gathered to get a glimpse of the president ... 

otherwise the other biggies that made news was the movie "SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE" got the Golden globe award and getting nominated for the Oscars ,,, let's hope they win it too ... 

The prime minister had undergone an operation for blockage in the heart , the entire nation prays for his speedy recovery and be back in his chair to lead the country with renewed spirit and zeal ...

next what and where ????

The week didn't go all that good . Well , the head of SATYAM confessed to having manipulated  the balance sheet of the company and showing phoney assets and liabilities . I am surprised on how on how he managed to get away from all problems all this while . The biggest shocker is that the company has it's branches in multitudinous country so it's a shame on Mr Raju and all those who were involved in this base act..... The big question is that is this the tip of the dung heap ?  wonder how many other companies are doing this and putting not only their employees in jeopardy  but also the country's dignity at stake ... what is so ironical in all that the company's name and it's  shameful act are such a cliche. 

The other reason why things went amiss was due to the strike by the truckers who demanded reduction in the price of diesel by RS.1o . The government agreed to RS.3 but agitators aren't happy and negotiations are on .. The result of all this was that the entire country faced a flash situation of scarcity of fuel  and long queue of vehicles at the pump for refuelling ... luckily we escaped this frustrating situation as we had refuelled our car the previous day. 

I would like to sign out by putting a SMS I got which is informative and interesting ......

WISHING YOU A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!

so .. leaving behind the hideous , traumatic  2008 ,we ushered the new year with great pomp and pleasure ........  with fire works lighting up the shy and hard music rocking the grounds we saw the new year coming in .... like every year I waited for 00:00 hrs EST to strike , to watch the new year's celebration at the Times Square , New York . This time the former prez of the States Mr. Clinton and his wife were there too ...... so a double bonanza!!!!!!!!

dreams , prayers , hopes, silver lining , change for good, peace, vote, responsibility ....... these words concise the wishes of all citizens in the world ..... Improvement in the economy , abolition of terror  more money , employment seems to be the mantra everywhere .,... 

even in all the celebration and fun there was a bomb blast in Assam ..... thankfully not many were injured .... This is in all means is unfair ,,,,,,,

Also, I've been hooked on finishing the article i started yesterday .. the topic i chose was celebrities and media ,,,, whether they should be be given more privacy or is it the price they pay for becoming a star ..... let's see when it gets published !!!!!! i have also witten another article

 on the system of education in India which I have sent for publication !!!!!!! i plan to write more articles this year along with writing my British Council , ESOL exam ........

christmas and new year ----- a combo bonanza

hola ( hello)

well , I must that say that i am finally getting the hang of  sassy,Spanish . 

hope you enjoyed Christmas as much as I did ...............

The spirit this year was rather sombre and quiet , owing to terror attacks . 

Of course , our college didn't succumb to  all that and we had wonderful Christmas party and even color codes( red , green , blue , white on different days and even Santa caps!!!!!!!) , All the cakes were gone before the first bites and the best part was when all of us exchanged gifts, I got a wine cup shaped candle . It looks really attractive, grand from far . Since this is the first time I am studying in a Christian institution the whole affair excited me .... 

The year is   drawing to  a close ... It's been quite a year with so many up's and down's . The economy and the recession constitutes  the low part of it and also  the 

Mumbai attacks   , the kandhamal attacks which questioned our secularism  .

The golden stars are the Nuclear deal with USA getting through . India's first unmanned space mission to the moon , some wonderful  movies like Indiana Jones and the kingdom of crystal skull  , iron man , chronicles of Narnia -prince Caspian , 10,000 BC, quantum of solace , 10,000 BC , 27 dresses etc .. 

 Overall it's been a fairly good year keeping people on their toes 24*7.

I really wanted to write about the Da Vinci code that i happened to read recently . The book is definitely the master of all thrillers , one that you hard to put down , atleast i couldn't it !!!!! Some parts , were intriguing but bought had  " facts" that i found impossible to believe . I sat back and wondered how the Harry potter series ever outsold this book . 

so , that's it this time .....
